My Brother the Handy-Man

About 6 months ago we purchased a new dishwasher to match the rest of our stainless steel appliances, with the thought that our little portable would one day blow... soon afterward it did. But we didn't get around to installing this new dishwasher because it looked like a huge project. Plumbing and electrical. Our previous one was plumbed in but it was a portable dishwasher, and as you can see in the photos the previous owners had done a make-shift job. So instead of using our new dishwasher it has been sitting in the corner of our house, useful for holding our recycling--- but not dishes.
old dishwasher, with stacks of papers on top--it's only use--note the space between it and the fridge.
New dishwasher hiding loads of clutter & recycling
Plumbing for a clothes washer----no pipes, just hoses--which were close to exploding (eeks)!!!

UNTIL my brother Chad came up to SAVE THE DAY!! He drove from Raymond for the weekend (in remarkable time). Changed out pipes, moved electrical (including new breaker box, etc....), built us a cupboard, installed new countertop,.....and plumbed/wired in our dishwasher. ...and yup she works like a charm. But after watching how much work it took him at our old house (things not quite up to 2007 code here), I know that we'd never have ever gotten it done as well ourselves.

Now we have a bit more space, new countertop (for more stacks of stuff), and I have a new quest to tackle some of the easy projects I'd like to have done. We'll see.

Thanks Chad for freeing up HOURS of my time from washing dishes. IOU (& your wife & kids!!)
