Summertime

We have had such a great summer thus far. We started off in Raymond seeing family. We spent time with Brent, Amber and Carter saw the July 1st parade and met up with old friends. An old roommate and mission friend flew from Tacoma for her first trip to Canada.

After a cancelled flight finally Scott (who had stayed at home to work) flew in from GP to Lethbridge, all was well after his luggage was finally found. We drove right away to Utah, meeting up with Scotts family at Aspen Grove, up Provo Canyon from Sundance. Click here to see the the photos of our week--(choose the July 7-13 option). See if you can see the kids in the slideshow. it is fantastic. a million things for us to do. The kids had "camp counsellors" who looked after them every day so we could go do things we wanted to. It was relaxing and fun for all.

I could say so much more about Aspen Grove. There was a little ice cream shop for treats, they have a swimming pool, badminton, tennis, basketball courts, playgrounds, little village, softball fields, fishing pond, ropes course, crafts, pottery classes, cooking classes, paintball, archery, rocket building, you could sign out every sort of game for the kids to play, great hikes, guest lectures, so much stuff. They had a "fiesta"night, like a mini carnival; a water themed mini olympics with teams of families competing; Every night they had something planned-- Family Talent Show, movies, etc. We ate ice cream and played cards together every night. LOVED EVERY MINUTE!! I know I am missing stuff, but even after the cost, and travel, and everything else we can't wait to go back. It was the highlight of our summer for our whole family. Tagg & Berke loved it, Kwade had fun, as well as mom and dad. (nothing like a week of not having to worry about meals, no clean up!!-- all was done for you!). All I did was send kids to their groups, go back and have a nap. First time I've done that in years!!

After the week, we spent a couple days in Salt Lake shopping and checking out the valley, Thanksgiving Point & BYU. The weather was beautiful and hot 40C. It was so fun to spend time together with all the family. Kids playing with everyone. we got back to Alberta, Scott flew home, I stayed a few more days in Raymond then drove back with the kiddies. Before we left we had our annual unplanned visit to see a DR. This time it was Emergency for Berkeley. She had an earache and cried for a whole day. Nothing like the ER Doc being a friend I went to High School with. Kinda fun to play catch up after not seeing him for a while.

We finally made it back to Grande Prairie; I am missing the HOT weather. Here it is Aug and I am freezing. where has the sunshine gone? It is rainy and cold, I've been putting off going to the park because I am A)lazy, B)not wanting to venture out with 3 hacky-snot-nosed kids.

Hopefully tomorrow????
