I just gotta get this down before I forget but I doubt I'll ever forget this. I've been trying to get Tagg potty trained. He is 2 1/2 & has really no desire to get on the pot. Maybe I'm too lazy, but chasing him all day to get on the potty is too much trouble. I should just let him be naked (it did work right Rach??) but it is a little too cold outside & I don't want to be mopping and disinfecting right now.
We've bought 2 different kinds-- one is a little portable one that plays music--or did play music in our case. {One time Tagg was sick and that was the closest puke bucket--gag! So I cleaned it up by throwing it in the shower--oops, I forgot about the batteries and such..... next day it was playing random music--sounding alot like a funeral procession, now no music. } Anyways- Tagg has never really used it, he'll carry it around the house; figures it is a place to sit while watching movies. Besides it is actually too little for him since he has grown so much in the last while--so even if he was sitting on it, he'd still miss. The 2nd potty we bought is just one that you place on the seat of the toilet, actually fits under the lid--we put stickers on it and he thought that was cool.
So yesterday I put Tagg in his "Bob the Builder" briefs. I checked him every few minutes. We sat on the toilet a couple times, water running.... no action. So while he was sitting I decided to get Berkeley ready for her bath. Out of the corner of my eye I sawTagg sucking on his fingers. I watched him for a moment. THE KID WAS DIPPING HIS HAND IN THE TOILET, THEN SUCKING OFF THE H2O. aghhhhh!!@!! I nearly dropped Berke as I pulled him off the pot. GROSS. Is this really my child??
Guess I can add that to the time I found him dipping MY toothbrush in the toilet for a drink. You'd think I never feed/water him. So let that be a warning when you come for a visit. Protect your toothbrush at all costs!!

that is hillairious, Mo! I didn't know you had a blog, I'm so excited! Yup, I found Payton the other day dipping her hand in the toilet and patting the water on her cheeks. yummy. but it was so funny!
Tagg will always find ways to brighten your days Mo...I've been going through much of the same with our new puppy. Lysol disinfecting wipes are the bomb. Grandma Lois would be proud.
Mo - too funny :) I think our kids pull things to keep our pride in perspective. Just when we think we have it under control - WHAMO - the little stinkers pull a fast one on us and we really know who wears the pants. (One poopy diaper at a time) No really, I have found with potty training, until they really want it, it is a waste of time. It took Kaden 3 1/2 years to master it. It took me realizing I was NOT in control of his bladder and I was sick and tired of being the potty police to just run with it and let him control it. I waited until he talked about it and wanted it and it was all downhill from there. All I can say is GOOD LUCK! Boys are great! I came in to the bathroom tonight and my 2 boys were playing light sabers with their streams of urine. I just had to lauge and remind them that in OUR house we SIT DOWN! Of course I did it in the sweet Mary Poppins voice. We NEVER yell in our house.....Did I fool you for even one minute? DANG! You all know me too well. Too late I realized that when people are on my doorstep they can plainly hear me yelling at my kids to do this or that. THE SECRET IS OUT!!!! Rachel yells are her kids! :) Ok, enough enough! I need some unwind time...off to watch the Bachelor! Keep the stories coming Mo, they brighten my day. - xo RACH
Mo, that is hilarious. I can't believe how big Tagg is getting. I still remember the night you called us at our house in Raytown, and told us you were pregnant. We were so excited for you. Now look at all of our lives. You are onto your second baby, potty training the first and we are just getting started with Carter. Thanks for giving us a heads up of to look forward to.
We love you lots,
Brent, Amber and Carter
