Those of you who have been to my house know how tiny it is. The kids rarely enter the basement except for Tagg to play on the computer. So we moved the waterbed that was in the spare room and pulled all the toys downstairs.... can't believe how much stuff we've acquired that has been all over our house. So great to move it all in one space. The toys were all downstairs right after Christmas-- some of them even before that-- so yesterday when I got everything organized (with a little help from an extrememly excited Tagg who hadn't seen nor played with many of these toys in weeks) they spent all evening down there & today at 8:30am they wanted to come back. They actually played great together too!!!
So have a look.
Here is a photo as you come down the stairs, the stairs actually turn but there is a little half-door that I am keeping open to hear/see what is going on without having to go all the way downstairs. I think initially they had this made to move furniture, piano... downstairs, it is just right... hopefully it won't become a leaping post in the next few months.

I've got to get a few more things to better organize & finish it, but here you can see that the room is packed.

The kids had to dress up warm, sox, sweaters, long pants because it is cold outside (FREEZING--blowing snow) and thus so is the basement. I have been looking for an electric fireplace; but couldn't find what I wanted (AKA something on sale$$). Now I know how much space I have and I need to find a little one that will fit the room.

Good for you I love it!
I think I’m mostly in love with the fact that They’ll stay there and play with their toys! I Did the same thing right before Christmas! We got rid of an old desk and mountains of papers and craft stuff that didn’t belong anywhere and transformed it into Brylie’s play room! She doesn’t quite get the concept. She always piles everything into a basket or a bag --or anything else she can find, and she scatters them around the house. Maybe it’s the TV that sells the room to the kiddies! How did I never think of that?
Love ya
That is awesome! It makes such a big difference when the toys are organised, hey? So awesome. And about it being cold down there...we just bought a little space heater at walmart and it's awesome...totally warms up a room!
Luv ya!
i just realised i used the word "awesome" 3 times...payton's having a freak out right now and i can't concentrate! aaahhh!
Looks great. Glad you had the energy to do the big move. The kids look so darn happy. Berkeley's little eyes are just beaming. So cute to see her playing with little girly toys - little people house! How fun. You will feel a lot less stress I'm sure. It's great to have the toys all in one room. Now you just have to teach them about the "TOY FAIRY". Best friend I've ever had, except for you of course! :o)
Love you.
