I just received the nicest gift. Simple. Sweet. Totally heartwarming. It was from my dear friend Carey. She is an amazing cook.....When we are together we are always sharing new/old recipe ideas and suggestions. I am always eating her food, and begging her to make this or that for me. Tonight she had saved me the most scrumptous rolls--her mothers recipe....I will have to get my hands on that one. DELISH!!
Well her gift to me was a simple scribbler, loaded with her family's favorite menu ideas, recipes, shopping lists, weekly planning pages...stuff tried, tested, and loved by her kids, & easily put together... no fancy ingredients. I love it. I can't wait to try the Spicy Polynesian Wrap, or wait, maybe the Asian Twist, or Farmer's Chicken (highly recommended).... Here I'll share that one (it is tooooo simple-- none of us can go wrong....)
Farmer's chicken Equal parts oil, soy sauce and coke (can use a little less oil). Marinate overnight BBQ or bake 1hr.
She and her kids also made me this incredible tree ornament. You should see them on her tree. They are beautiful set off with twinkly lights. This is a crafty idea that a 4yr old can do. And the messier the better.
You use thicker wire and follow the shape of a cookie cutter, looping the top. Could be any shape you want. Then using finer wire start on one side and start wrapping. until voila-- C'est Tres Beau!! Isn't it beautiful and so easy. Next year I'll attempt some. They are really kid-proof too, which is a must around our house.
As well my dear friend Carey Tuttle allowed me to be her "toy-taker". She had boxes of toys (little people stuff, books, costumes) that she was clearing out to make way for new Christmas gifts. So I've hauled them home. My kids will be so excited with their "new-to-them" toys care of the Tuttle Kids. Santa is very happy too as this saves him time and $$$. I'll probably wrap a few from them to our kids.
My goal is to have a little toy room for the kids Christmas morning, so they can venture downstairs and be so surprised to see all their toys accessible & in one room. I have to move them anyways to make room for a tree (Our family yearly FHE activity tomorrow-- don't want it too soon so the kids knock it down and we get pine needles all over). We'll see what happens this week. I may have to get some treats and beg some friends to help me get things set up. I've been feeling so FAT, uncomfy & tired lately. Most of the day I can barely keep my eyes open. Anyways all you mothers know what I mean. Still 7wks left-- the worse yet to come-- at this point even when you are asleep you are still uncomfy. AHHGGGG. On that note I'd better hit the hay. My kids are early risers--no matter what time they go to sleep -early or late @ about 5AM (today it was 4:48AM) they are awake. Oh Joy, Joy!!!
TTFN & Sweet Dreams!! (only 8 more sleeps till Santa comes...EEKS!!)

First off, I can't wait to try out that chicken recipe. Second, you are right, that little ornament is darling! I might have to try making some next year as well. Kinda chilly here today. Still no baby. Hope you have fun picking out the perfect tree. No Charlie Browns OK.
Love you guys!!1
Cute ornament idea! Get some rest girl, you need it...have fun setting up your tree, give your kids a kiss for me!!
You know what that really is the nicest gift. there is nothing worse (and I'm the queen) of coming home from work and not knowing whats for dinner and you don't end up eating until 7:00.
Last Year or the year before Sonia did that for me and i don't know who else but I love it if I ever need a to die for recipe ( and you all know how well I cook or not cook) i just look through that cook book and its always great.
Good luck with the tree. ours has been up since November and redecorated several times. :)
That is a great gift, maybe we'll have to try something like that next year between all the girls. That would be fun. Hope your tree looks better than ours that is non existant. We love ya and miss ya tons. Merry Christmas!!!
